Orose and Tyree Earn President's Volunteer Award

Orose and Tyree President's Volunteer Service Award AGCS is proud of our students’ commitment to making our community a better place.

AGCS seventh graders, Jonathan Orose and Lauren Tyree, so thoroughly demonstrate this commitment to volunteering they have earned the President's Volunteer Service Award bestowed on behalf of the President of the United States. In a ceremony on Friday in Mrs. Bannon’s art class, Mrs. Bishop and Mrs. Lambert recognized Jonathan and Lauren for over 545 combined volunteer hours in just the last year. The two volunteer for animal shelters, school, church, scouts and one of them founded a nonprofit concert series that both of them performed in raising over $15,000 for local food banks during the Covid pandemic.

We are so proud of the difference that our students make both within and outside of our AGCS community!
