• The five layers of School Safety

    COVID-19 Preparing for 2020-2021

School Safety

  • The safety of our students and staff is our number one priority and our constant focus. A combination of staff training, vigilance, supporting tecnology, and student safety programs helps ensure that your children are learning in a safe environment.

Some of the ways we provide a safe environment are:

    • Staff Safe Schools training programs
    • Emergency Management plans
    • Age-appropriate student fire and security drills
    • Security technology and software
    • Safe 2 Say program
    • PBIS Program - positive student culture

Safe 2 Say Something

  • Each year in schools and commuities across the United States, there are millions of youth who hurt themselves or others through verbal, physical, and digital means. These behaviors can cause youth to experience emotional trauma and physical injury, mental health or wellness issues, stress or anxiety, and/or feelings of eing unsafe. Too often the outcome results in self-harm, suicide, or homicide.

At AGCS, we take school safety very seriously and listen carefully to student, parent, and community concerns. Students receive age-appropriate education on safety and well-being. One solution we offer is the Safe2Say Something Anonymous Reporting System, which is operated by the Pennsylvania Office of Attorney General. This program teaches youth and adults how to recognize warning signs and signals - especially within social media - of individuals who may be a threat to themselves or others and gives them a tool for secure, anonymous reporting, 24/7, 365 days per year, before it's too late.
