March is MIOSM -
Music in Our Schools Month

Many schools across the nation celebrate a special musical event during March known as MIOSM or “Music in our Schools Month”. During this month, the students will
be celebrating the value of Music each week with a different theme and special musical activity. The
theme weeks are:

March 2nd-6th: Wear something musical to Music class (earrings, socks, shirts,
stickers, etc.)

March 9th-13th:
Bring your favorite song in to share with the class

March 16th-20th:
Music in Motion (Students will have the opportunity to share their favorite school
appropriate dance moves)

POSTPONED due to COVID-19 Coronavirus. New week to be announced.
March 23rd-27th:
Special musical guests visiting classrooms throughout the week

Share Your Talent!

One of the most valuable ways to cultivate love for Music and the Arts is for children to see adult role models actively making Music through singing, playing an instrument, or dancing.

I would like to personally invite any parent, relative, or guardian that sings, dances, or plays an instrument to come in the week of March 23rd-27th TBA to share their musical abilities with the children in their child’s class. In addition, parents or relatives who may feel nervous about sharing their love of Music can also come in and read a musical story to their child’s class.

If you are interested in sharing your love of music or musical talent with the students, please email Ms. Reynolds at creynolds@agcharter.org by Friday, March 20th . Thank you for helping share the joy of Music with others!

If you have any questions or concerns about our special events, please email Ms. Reynolds. It is truly a joy to be able to teach your children!
