Internships

Internship model goal skills mentoring opportunity knowledge and practice

A focused internship is a more intense form of career exploration, allowing our students to devote more time and learning in a specific career cluster field or occupation. Students electing to participate in the school-based internship program are required to meet specific criteria prior to approval:

  • Students need to have completed at least 11.5 credits
  • Students are in their Senior or Junior year
  • Students who have been suspended in or out of school after January 1st of the prior school year are not eligible

The internship program will be facilitated via Schoology. Students will be expected to complete a professionalism course and three journal reflections documenting their learning experiences. An oral presentation with a visual product is also required at the conclusion of the internship.

Students who have completed a 60-hour internship will fully meet this pathway requirement. Students meeting all of the requirements and earning a passing grade will receive 1.0 electives credits counting towards their graduation requirements.

Students are expected to secure their own internship placement. If you're interested, AGCS has a list of placements where our students have completed internships in the past.  Please contact your grade level school counselor for more information.
