Schoology for Parents
AGCS uses Schoology, an integrated learning management solution. Schoology provides course management, mobile learning, and support for system-wide communication for students in grades K-12. It also enables our students, parents and teachers to engage with learning materials and their school community from the classroom and beyond.
With Schoology, students can:
- digitally submit homework assignments
- manage a digital planner
- participate in interactive discussions
- receive announcements and feedback
- take assessments
- and more.
4th-12th grade parents, you will also be able to view your child’s activity within the platform, providing you with greater access and information as to your child’s work and progress. First, you'll need to create your Schoology Parent Account, if you haven't already done so.
Schoology acts as a compliment to PowerSchool's Parent Portal; Schoology is the school’s Learning Management System where PowerSchool serves as the school’s Student Information System. The core functionality of these two systems are different, however, they are designed to work together to provide students, parents, and teachers options for extended learning opportunities and a unified, connected classroom.
As with any educational technology tool, our staff is currently involved in ongoing professional development opportunities to learn and master the core functions and capabilities of the platform. The implementation of this platform will take several years to reach its full potential. While our teaching staff have specific expectations for usage during the school year every teacher is at a different point in their mastery and comfortability with the platform. We appreciate your patience as we continue to learn and leverage this tool to help enhance our students’ learning experience.
If you have children at a different school who are also usingSchoology, you'll need to create two separate Parent accounts and link them together. Visit Schoology's Support Website to learn how.
