State Mandated Health Screenings

In compliance with Pennsylvania Public School Code Article XIV, Section 1402, our school nurses will provide important health screenings for our students annually and referrals will be mailed home when required.

Height and Weight

The school nurse will weigh and measure all students grades Kindergarten through 12th annually and calculate Body Mass Index (BMI).

Hearing

The school nurse will perform hearing tests on all students in grades Kindergarten through 3rd, 7th, and 11th grades annually. Special Education students having a history of auditory problems will be screened in grades Kindergarten through 12th annually or more often as necessary.

Vision

The school nurse will perform a vision screening on all students grades Kindergarten through 12th annually.

Scoliosis

Screening for scoliosis will be conducted for all 6th and 7th grade students by the school nurse or medical doctor.
