Vocabulary Parade - During School

Literacy Night - 6:00-7:00pm

Literacy Night

As part of National School Choice Week, we will be celebrating Literacy Night (6:00pm—7:00pm) on January 24th. We are connecting Literacy Night to coincide with our “AGCS Neighborhood” theme. Please watch for more information to come!

Vocabulary Parade
Throughout the day, we celebrate the joy of reading through hands-on activities. At the conclusion of the school day, we hold our Vocabulary Parade!

This year, we ask that our students costume ideas reflect a community person. This person could be someone your child wants to be when he/she grows up or is a hero to them. For instance, your child could dress up as a police-man and the vocabulary word displayed could be “safety”. Your child can use any vocabulary word related to the person’s career.

Our goal is to create a culture where word study is creative, interactive, memorable and fun. We believe the Vocabulary Parade will accomplish this goal. Thank you in advance for helping us turn vocabulary building into a Parade of Words.

The internet is a great resource for costume ideas. Google and Pinterest can provide you with inspiration. If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact your child’s teacher. We can’t wait to see all of the amazing costumes!

***Please note that, due to space limitations, the Vocabulary Parade is a student only event.***
Keep an eye on social media, where we'll be sharing photos of this exciting day!
